Salem

Nestled on the north shore of Massachusetts, Salem plays a significant role in history for the bay state as it was one of the most significant seaports for Puritan Americans. Additionally, Salem was home to the  “Salem Witch Trials,” the series of prosecutions of alleged witchcraft being conducted in the late 1600’s.

Nowadays, Salem has a strong tourism industry based on its history. From Halloween events based on Witchcraft to the Friendship replica, a remake of a tall fishing ship from the late 1700’s, Salem is often on the radar of many for a visit. It is noted for having a bustling downtown with over 60 restaurants and shops that all played a role in its recognition for winning the “Best Shopping District” award of 2012.
